When should preparation start?＋
Year 4 for foundations and Year 5 for the weekly routine suits most children. Two to three focused hours a week, not more, with mocks from spring of Year 5.
Are weekly mocks really necessary?＋
Yes. The 11+ is as much a timing test as a knowledge test, and children who have sat a dozen timed sections walk into the real exam calm. We mark every mock and re-teach the weak topics the same week.
