SAT prep without the $60/hour price tag

Private SAT tutors in the US typically charge $45 to $150 an hour, and tutors placed by test-prep companies $100 to $400 or more. Our SAT coaches teach the same Digital SAT strategy one-to-one: pacing through the adaptive modules, the built-in Desmos calculator and the question patterns that repeat, at a fraction of that price.

How the Digital SAT works

The SAT has two sections. Reading and Writing has 54 questions in 64 minutes, split into two 32-minute modules; Math has 44 questions in 70 minutes, split into two 35-minute modules. With a 10-minute break between the sections, the test takes 2 hours and 14 minutes.

The test is adaptive by module: how a student performs on the first module decides whether the second is harder or easier, and the harder second module is the route to the top scores. Each section is scored from 200 to 800, for a total of 400 to 1600. A calculator is allowed throughout Math, and Bluebook has a Desmos graphing calculator built in.

Do colleges still want SAT scores?

More of them do. MIT and a growing number of other highly selective colleges require the SAT or ACT again for 2026-27 applicants, while many others remain test-optional, where a strong score can still strengthen an application. Check the testing policy on each college's admissions page before deciding how much to prepare.

Registration costs $68 per weekend test, plus a $43 international fee for students testing outside the US; late registration adds $38.

Common questions

What score improvement is realistic?οΌ‹

It depends on the starting score, the weeks available and the practice done between sessions. Your tutor sets an honest target after a full diagnostic test and reviews it after every practice test.

Do you prepare for the ACT too?οΌ‹

Yes, and we'll tell you if your child is better suited to the ACT's faster pacing. The free demo includes that recommendation.

How is the Digital SAT scored?οΌ‹

Each section is scored from 200 to 800, for a total of 400 to 1600. Because the test adapts by module, a strong first module leads to a harder second module, which is the route to the highest scores.

How much does the SAT cost?οΌ‹

$68 to register for a weekend test, plus a $43 international fee for students testing outside the US. Late registration adds $38, and fee waivers are available for eligible US students.

When should my child take the SAT?οΌ‹

Most students sit it for the first time in the spring of grade 11, which leaves the fall of grade 12 for a retake before early application deadlines.

How many hours do most students need?οΌ‹

A Standard package is 24 one-to-one hours for a meaningful score move; Light (12) suits a small polish, Intensive (40+) suits larger gaps. Your tutor sets an honest target after a diagnostic.

Is the Digital SAT different from the old paper test?οΌ‹

Yes: shorter, adaptive modules, and calculator allowed throughout Math. We prep only for the current digital format.
