If your family is choosing ACT over SAT this autumn, lock the date first. National sittings fill, and late fees stack quickly.
Autumn and winter national dates
Published national dates include 19 September 2026, 17 October 2026 and 12 December 2026, then 27 February, 10 April, 12 June and 10 July 2027. Registration deadlines sit roughly five weeks before each test; late windows close closer to test day.

SAT vs ACT this season

Is Science still required on the ACT?＋
ACT is rolling out an enhanced format with Science optional (like Writing). Confirm the version your centre offers when you register, and tell your tutor which sections you will sit.
