Selective entry is not NAPLAN. Placement tests rank children for limited seats. Timing the tutoring block to the state window matters more than generic homework help.
NAPLAN vs Selective
NAPLAN checks literacy and numeracy progress in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9. Selective tests compare applicants for places. Skills overlap, but practice papers and reasoning sections differ. Tell your tutor which pathway you need.
When to start
A Standard Selective package is about 24 hours. Starting a term before the sitting is safer than a four-week cram. Confirm the current year's NSW Selective or Victorian Selective Entry dates with the official education sites, then count back eight to twelve weeks.
