What is GL Assessment?

GL Assessment is the company that provides most grammar school 11+ exams and many school progress tests in England. If your child is sitting the 11+ in Kent, Buckinghamshire, Trafford or most other grammar areas, it is a GL paper.
What GL papers test

How to prepare for GL papers
GL publishes official practice papers, and familiarity with the question format is the single biggest advantage. Timed practice with GL-style questions, weekly mocks from spring of Year 5, and a vocabulary-rich reading habit are the standard preparation. Many tutors, including ours, use GL-format papers specifically.

Is GL harder than CEM?＋
Different: GL papers are more predictable in format (question types are published), while CEM-style papers are designed to be less coachable. Check which supplier your target school uses.
