Regents study planner
Regents exams run three times a year and reuse stable question styles, which makes a six-week planner unusually effective: diagnose with a past paper, drill the weakest units, then finish on full timed papers. Print one per subject and count back from your exam date.
Weeks 6-5: diagnose
- One full past Regents for the subject, timed and scored
- List every lost point by unit; rank the top three
- Book the plan: two sessions a week on those units
Weeks 4-2: drill
- Unit-focused practice sets from past papers, marked same day
- Rewrite one constructed-response answer per week to the rubric
- Vocabulary and formulas: ten-minute recall, three days a week
Final week
- One full paper early in the week, one lighter review after
- Sleep, breakfast and calculator/pen logistics checked
- Target posted on the planner: 65 to pass, 85 to stand out
Tutor tip: Regents rewards rubric-aware practice more than extra content. If your child is stuck a few points short, one-to-one tutoring with marked past papers is the fastest lift.
