Tutoring prices in Dubai span a wide range: from under AED 100 an hour for online homework help to AED 450 or more for an exam specialist at home. Here are the 2026 benchmarks by tutor type, what that means per month, and how to check a tutor is working legally.
Hourly rates by tutor type (2026)
- โ Budget online or junior support: AED 60-150 an hour (Bestimate)
- โ Qualified subject tutor: AED 150-300 an hour (Bestimate)
- โ Home tutoring visits: AED 180-350 an hour all-in, higher in villa communities and at peak hours (Bestimate)
- โ IB, IGCSE, A Level, AP or CBSE specialist: AED 200-450+ an hour (Bestimate)
- โ SEN and learning support specialists: AED 250-500+ an hour (Bestimate)
- โ Online marketplaces: AED 40-150 an hour; tuition centres: AED 100-300 per group session (EdFlik)
What that means per month
For one hour a week, Bestimate's 2026 benchmarks work out at roughly AED 240-600 a month at the budget level, AED 600-1,200 in the middle and AED 1,000-2,000+ for specialist exam-year support. Two subjects, or two sessions a week, doubles that.
The UAE private tutor permit
Since 2023, private tutoring in the UAE needs a Private Teacher Work Permit from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) and the Ministry of Education. The permit is free and valid for two years. Registered school teachers, employees in government or private jobs, jobseekers, school students aged 15 to 18 and university students can apply. Ask any private tutor whether they hold one.
What we charge
EagleTeach's online one-to-one classes start from US$9 a class for primary and US$12 for exam years (about AED 33 to AED 44), with the same specialist tutor each week. Families in the UAE pay a small booking deposit of AED 25 that covers two demo classes and comes off the first invoice.
Getting value
- โ Start with a trial or a short block of sessions before buying a long package
- โ Compare price per hour, not per lesson: a 45-minute session can cost more per hour
- โ For exam years, pay for curriculum expertise: the right board and past-paper marking matter more than the hourly rate
- โ Online lessons cut out the travel time that pushes home-visit rates up
