IGCSE revision checklist
IGCSEs are judged almost entirely on exam performance, and their May/June and October/November series make the calendar do half the work: count back from your exam series and this checklist turns the weeks into a plan. Works for both Cambridge (CAIE) and Pearson Edexcel specs.
Set up (one evening)
- Write each subject's syllabus code (e.g. 0580, 4MA1) at the top of its page
- Download the specification and past papers for YOUR exam series
- RAG-rate the spec topics from one diagnostic paper per subject
- Book the exam centre if you are a private candidate (do this early)
Weekly routine (per subject)
- Two 40-minute sessions on red-rated topics
- One timed past-paper section, marked against the scheme the same day
- Ten minutes of formula/definition recall, three days a week
- Rewrite one lost-mark answer from last week, properly
Final four weeks
- One full past paper per subject per week, strictly timed
- Alternate calculator and non-calculator practice for maths and sciences
- Error log review every Sunday; reds get double time
- Final week: light recall, early nights, equipment checked
Tutor tip: The checklist works because it follows the specification, not a generic textbook order. Our IGCSE tutors work the same way: spec line by line, past papers weekly.
