AP Physics C: Mechanics score calculator
Enter your results from an AP Physics C: Mechanics practice exam to see your weighted score, built from College Board's published section weights for the 2027 exam. Below: the exam format, how Physics C: Mechanics students scored in 2026 and where to pick up points.
Enter your results from a practice exam: multiple-choice questions correct, and the percentage of free-response points you earned (marked with College Board's scoring guidelines).
42 questions in 1 hour 25 minutes
4 questions in 1 hour 35 minutes: mathematical routines, translation between representations, experimental design and analysis, qualitative/quantitative translation
Fill in every section to see your weighted score.
College Board converts the composite to a 1-5 using cut-offs set for each exam every year, and doesn't publish them, so we don't guess a grade. Raise the sections where you lose the most weighted points first.

- ✓ Free response (50%): 4 questions in 1 hour 35 minutes: mathematical routines, translation between representations, experimental design and analysis, qualitative/quantitative translation
Where to pick up points

- ✓ Rotational dynamics and angular momentum carry many marks
- ✓ Derive symbolic answers before substituting numbers
- ✓ Practise each of the four free-response types
How AP scores are calculated
Your raw results in each section are weighted and added into a composite score, which College Board converts to the 1-5 scale. The cut-offs are set for each exam every year so that a score means the same standard, and they aren't published. Use your weighted score to track progress between practice exams and to see which section costs you most.
