How the calculator works

The UCAT Consortium publishes the score at each decile: the 1st decile is the 10th percentile, the 5th is the median and the 9th is the 90th percentile. The calculator finds the two deciles your score falls between and estimates the percentile on a straight line between them.

Worked example: in the UK UCAT 2026 the 7th decile was 2050 and the 8th 2140. A score of 2100 is just over halfway between them, so it is about the 76th percentile.

What the scores mean

Since 2025 the UCAT has three cognitive subtests, Verbal Reasoning, Decision Making and Quantitative Reasoning, each scored 300 to 900, so the total runs from 900 to 2700. The Situational Judgement Test is reported separately: in Bands 1 to 4 in the UK, and as a scaled score in UCAT ANZ.

Limits of the estimate

  • ✓ Percentiles between deciles are estimates; UCAT doesn't publish cut-offs above the 90th or below the 10th percentile
  • ✓ The UK and ANZ tests have different candidates, so use the one you sat
  • ✓ 2025 and later totals aren't comparable with earlier years, when Abstract Reasoning was included
  • ✓ Each university decides how it uses the UCAT, often alongside the SJT, academics and interviews

FAQs

What percentile is a UCAT score of 2050 in 2026?+

In the UK UCAT 2026, 2050 was the 7th decile, so about the 70th percentile. In UCAT ANZ 2026 the 7th decile was 2120, so 2050 sits a little above the 60th percentile.

What was the average UCAT score in 2026?+

The UK total mean was 1918 (42,359 tests); the UCAT ANZ mean was 1964 (17,341 candidates).

What UCAT score is top 10%?+

For the UK UCAT 2026, 2250 or more (the 9th decile). For UCAT ANZ 2026, 2340 or more.

Can I compare my 2026 score with older years?+

Only with 2025. Abstract Reasoning was removed in 2025, so totals since then are out of 2700 and aren't comparable with earlier years.

Why are UK and ANZ percentiles different?+

They are separate tests with different candidates. UCAT ANZ candidates scored higher on average in 2026, so the same score ranks lower in ANZ.

Is this my official percentile?+

No. UCAT publishes deciles; this tool estimates the percentile between them. Universities use your actual score and their own selection rules.
