IGCSE Physics tutoring
IGCSE Physics is half physics and half maths: equations, units, graphs and practical reasoning. Our tutors make those skills automatic, then practise the exact papers your child will sit.

How Cambridge IGCSE Physics 0625 is examined
Every candidate takes three components. Extended candidates sit Paper 2, 40 multiple-choice questions in 45 minutes (30%), and Paper 4, a 1 hour 15 minute theory paper of 80 marks (50%). Core candidates sit Papers 1 and 3 instead. Everyone then takes a practical component worth 20%: the Paper 5 practical test or Paper 6, the 1-hour Alternative to Practical, which most schools enter.
Where physics marks are lost
The common patterns:
- ✓ Choosing the right equation but rearranging it wrongly
- ✓ Units and prefixes: kilo, milli and micro conversions
- ✓ Paper 6 questions on planning, variables and improving an experiment
- ✓ Reading values from graphs and calculating gradients
- ✓ Explanations that state a fact without the reasoning

Common questions
What is Paper 6 in IGCSE Physics?+
The Alternative to Practical: a 1-hour written paper of 40 marks on experimental skills, worth 20%. It is an alternative to the Paper 5 practical test.
Is IGCSE Physics hard?+
The content is manageable; most students lose marks on equations, units and practical questions, all of which improve quickly with practice.
Core or Extended Physics?+
Extended is needed for the top grades. We advise from marked papers at both levels.
Do you teach Edexcel International GCSE Physics?+
Yes. Tell us the syllabus code and we match a tutor who teaches it.
What topics does IGCSE Physics cover?+
In Cambridge 0625: motion, forces and energy; thermal physics; waves; electricity and magnetism; nuclear physics; and space physics.
How early should we start?+
Year 10 is ideal; Year 11 support works well when focused on past papers and the weakest topics.
