AP exams are in May, but the decision to sit them is made in the autumn. Missing your school's November ordering deadline can block a May exam or add late fees.
Autumn registration window
College Board asks students to join their AP class section in My AP in early autumn. Schools set an ordering deadline in November for full-year courses. Talk to the AP coordinator now if your child intends to sit Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English or History in May 2027.
May 2027 exam weeks
AP Exams for 2027 run across two weeks: 3-7 May and 10-14 May. Subject tutoring through winter and early spring should include FRQ practice marked against College Board rubrics, not only multiple-choice drills.
When to start tutoring
A Standard AP subject package is about 16 hours. Starting in October or November leaves room for unit catch-up before mock season. Waiting until April usually means Light polish only.
