Leaving Cert timetable 2027

The State Examinations Commission publishes the full Leaving Cert timetable during the school year; this page is updated when the 2027 timetable appears. The pattern is settled: oral exams in the first week of the Easter holidays, written exams from early June for about three weeks, and results in late August.

- โ Oral exams in Irish and modern languages: the first week of the Easter holidays (the SEC set this for 2025, 2026 and 2027)
- โ Written exams: early June to late June, starting with English Paper 1 (2026 ran from Wednesday 3 June to Tuesday 23 June)
- โ Redeveloped subjects (Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Business among them): their additional assessment components, worth 40%, are completed and submitted during sixth year, before the June exams
- โ Results: late August (2026 results came out on Friday 21 August at 10am)

Every date below is from 2026; 2027 follows the same shape once the SEC confirms it.
- โ Saturday 28 March to Thursday 2 April: oral exams
- โ Wednesday 3 June: written exams begin with English Paper 1 at 9:30am
- โ Tuesday 23 June: written exams finish
- โ Friday 21 August, 10am: results on the Candidate Self Service Portal
- โ Tuesday 25 August: marks for each component shown on the portal
- โ Saturday 29 August: online viewing of marked scripts (24 hours)
- โ Sunday 30 to Monday 31 August: appeals window
- โ Friday 25 September: target date for appeal results
Checklist before the exams
- โ Know your coursework and investigation deadlines in each subject; in the redeveloped subjects they carry 40% of the grade
- โ Register on the Candidate Self Service Portal when your school asks; you need it for results and appeals
- โ Do at least two full timed papers per subject after the mocks
- โ Plan revision around the timetable's busy weeks once it is published

If a result is close to a grade boundary, view the marked script before deciding on an appeal: the viewing and appeal windows are only a day or two long. CAO offers are made in the days after results, so check your points with a calculator first.
