How the maths exam works

Higher Level maths has two written papers, each 2 hours 30 minutes and worth 300 marks. Each paper has a Section A on concepts and skills and a Section B on contexts and applications. Paper 1 covers algebra, functions, complex numbers, sequences and series, financial maths and calculus; Paper 2 covers geometry, trigonometry, probability and statistics.

Why Higher Level is worth it

An H6 at Higher Level is worth 46 points plus the 25-point maths bonus, 71 in total, more than an O1 at Ordinary Level (56). For students who can reach H6, staying at Higher Level usually pays.
