The Redbridge 11+

Redbridge's two grammar schools, Ilford County High School for boys and Woodford County High School for girls, use one 11+ run by the London Borough of Redbridge. Places go by catchment and total standardised score.
The test
The test is provided by GL Assessment and has two papers: English and verbal reasoning, and mathematics and non-verbal reasoning. For September 2027 entry it was on Friday 18 September 2026; registration ran from 1 May to 5pm on 15 June 2026. Results are emailed in mid-October.
How Ilford County High allocates places
Ilford County High admits 180 boys a year. Children must reach a minimum standardised score of 104 to be ranked at all. Then:
- โ Looked-after and previously looked-after children
- โ 45 places (25%) for Pupil Premium children
- โ Other children in the 11+ common catchment area, by total standardised score
- โ Children outside the catchment area, by total standardised score

- โ Bring the photo ID form sent with the invitation to the test
For September 2028 entry
Based on the 2026 pattern, expect registration from 1 May to mid-June 2027, the test in mid-September 2027 and results by email in mid-October.
