Kent has more grammar schools than any other county, and its Kent Test combines multiple-choice reasoning, maths and English with a short writing exercise. Because places are decided by aggregated scores, steady weekly preparation from Year 5 is what separates offers from near misses.

When is the Kent Test?๏ผ
It sits in September of Year 6, with registration opening in early June of Year 5. Children also sit it in some out-of-county centres. We plan backwards from the date with mocks through the summer.
Is the Kent Test GL Assessment?๏ผ
Kent uses GL Assessment papers with a separate writing task that is considered in borderline cases. Preparation covers the multiple-choice papers' timing first, then writing practice second.
