Wiltshire's two grammar schools are both in Salisbury: Bishop Wordsworth's School for boys and South Wilts Grammar School for girls. Each runs its own admissions test and registration.
Bishop Wordsworth's School

- โ Saturday 26 September 2026: 11+ test
- โ Friday 16 October 2026: result letters
- โ Qualifying standard: a mean score of 72% across all papers, which makes a boy eligible but doesn't guarantee a place
- โ Families must complete both the school's 11+ form and their home council's secondary application (1 September to 31 October 2026)
South Wilts Grammar School
South Wilts Grammar School runs its own admissions for girls. Check its dates, test format and qualifying standard on the school's admissions page.
Offers
Offers for both schools come on National Offer Day, Monday 1 March 2027. Children who don't get an offer can appeal; the appeal panel follows the School Admission Appeals Code.
