The IB and Switzerland

The International Baccalaureate's foundation office is in Geneva, where the organisation started in 1968. Students at international schools across Zurich, Geneva, Basel and Lausanne take the same Diploma, with the same May exam session and the same markschemes as students everywhere.

The May 2027 Diploma exams run from Friday 23 April to Tuesday 18 May 2027. Worldwide, the May 2026 session averaged 30.88 points out of 45; a Diploma needs at least 24 points and the core conditions.
