The IB in Japan
Japan's education ministry runs an IB consortium with the IB, and some Diploma subjects can be taught and assessed in Japanese in the dual-language DP. Students in those programmes still take part of the Diploma in English, which is where tutoring in English academic writing and HL problem solving helps most.
The May 2027 Diploma exams run from Friday 23 April to Tuesday 18 May 2027. Worldwide, the May 2026 session averaged 30.88 points out of 45; a Diploma needs at least 24 points and the core conditions.
