IB results in Hong Kong
In May 2026, 2,912 students in Hong Kong received IB Diploma and Career-related Programme results, with an average Diploma score of 37.02 against a global 30.88. Across the English Schools Foundation's schools, 27 students scored the maximum 45.
The Diploma needs at least 24 points with no grade 1, no more than two grade 2s, at least 12 HL and 9 SL points, no E in TOK or the Extended Essay and CAS completed; but in Hong Kong the real target is usually the high 30s or 40s.
Where Hong Kong students lose points
