5 min read ยท updated 2026-10-13
IB Diploma results come out twice a year: in mid-December for the November session and in early July for the May session. The May 2026 results reached schools on 5 July and students on 6 July 2026, so expect the May 2027 results in the same week of July 2027.
Results dates
- โ November 2026 session: results in mid-December 2026 (the November 2025 results reached schools on 16 December 2025)
- โ May 2027 session (exams 23 April to 18 May 2027): results in early July 2027
- โ Last year's pattern: schools received May 2026 results through IBIS on 5 July, and students on the candidate website on 6 July 2026
How to get your results
Your IB coordinator gives you a personal code and PIN for the IB candidate results website before results day. Schools see results first, and students can log in shortly afterwards.
Your coordinator also arranges for results to be sent to the universities you applied to, so check with them before results day which ones are on the list.
If you're a point or two short
Talk to your coordinator on results day. An enquiry upon results (a re-mark) is possible for components close to a grade boundary, but there are deadlines and fees, and marks can go down as well as up. For a missed university offer, contact the university quickly; many confirm near-misses in the days after results.
Students who need to resit can usually enter the November session. Starting revision in August, with a tutor on the weakest subject, gives the most time.
