Last-minute SAT prep that is worth doing
6 min read · updated 2026-09-23
Two weeks will not rebuild algebra from scratch. It can clean pacing, reduce careless errors and stabilise one or two high-frequency skills. Here is a realistic short runway.
What two weeks can fix
- ✓ Module timing and when to guess vs grind
- ✓ Bluebook highlighter, desmos calculator comfort and annotation habits
- ✓ Top three recurring miss types from recent practice
- ✓ Sleep, device charge and test-day logistics
What to skip
Skip brand-new content domains. Skip five different prep books. Skip tutoring that only lectures without timed sets. One or two focused sessions per week plus short daily drills beat marathon cram days.
If the score still looks short
Sit the planned date only if colleges need a score now. Otherwise move energy to the next sitting with a proper Standard package. A calm November or December often beats a panicky October.
FAQs
How many tutoring hours in two weeks?+
Four to eight focused hours is typical. More than that without rest often adds stress without points.
Should we take a full practice test this week?+
Yes, once, early in the two-week window, then review every miss. A second full test in the final three days is optional if energy is good.
