NCEA results for the 2026 end-of-year exams will be released online by NZQA in mid-January 2027. NZQA confirms the exact day closer to the time; the 2025 results came out on 14 January 2026 and the 2024 results on 15 January 2025.
Key dates for 2026-27
- โ NCEA and NZ Scholarship exams: Tuesday 10 November to Friday 4 December 2026
- โ NCEA results: online in mid-January 2027 (last year: 14 January)
- โ NZ Scholarship results: in February (last year: 10 February 2026)
- โ Marked exam papers: viewable online about a week after results (last year: from 20 January)
- โ Reviews and reconsiderations: apply within about five weeks of results (last year's deadline: 18 February)
Where to see your results
Results appear in your NZQA Learner Login, along with your Record of Achievement. Check that your NSN and contact details are right before January, so you aren't locked out on the day.
Certificate endorsements (Merit and Excellence) are worked out when external results are released in January, so an endorsement can appear on results day even if your internal results didn't earn one.
If a result isn't what you expected
Look at the marked paper first: it shows where marks were lost. If you believe a paper was marked wrongly, you can apply for a review or reconsideration within the deadline; your school's NCEA coordinator can help with the process.
For the year ahead, the gap is usually specific: a single external standard or one topic. That is where targeted help over the summer holidays pays off most.
