Online ESAT tutoring
The Engineering and Science Admissions Test (ESAT) is used by Cambridge, Imperial and other universities for engineering, science, natural sciences and veterinary courses. It is modular, fast and taken without a calculator, so speed and accuracy in core maths and science decide the score.

How the ESAT works
The ESAT is computer-based and made of two or three 40-minute modules, depending on the course, each with 27 multiple-choice questions. Calculators and dictionaries aren't allowed, there is no negative marking, and you can't change modules on test day, so choose them carefully when booking.
Which modules Imperial courses need
- โ Aeronautics, Civil, Electrical and Electronic, and Mechanical Engineering, and Physics: Mathematics 1, Mathematics 2 and Physics
- โ Chemical Engineering: Mathematics 1, Mathematics 2 and Chemistry
- โ Design Engineering: Mathematics 1 and Mathematics 2
- โ Life Sciences: Mathematics 1, Chemistry and Biology
Test dates for 2027 entry
- โ Window 1: 12-16 October 2026
- โ Window 2: 4-8 January 2027; booking opens 26 October 2026 and closes 21 December 2026
