Online TMUA tutoring
The Test of Mathematics for University Admissions (TMUA) is used for maths, computer science and economics courses at universities including Cambridge, Imperial, LSE, UCL and Warwick. It rewards fast, careful reasoning with familiar maths, which is exactly what tutoring builds.

What the TMUA tests
The TMUA lasts 2 hours 30 minutes: two papers of 75 minutes, each with 20 multiple-choice questions. Applications of Mathematical Knowledge asks you to use maths in new situations; Mathematical Reasoning tests mathematical reasoning and simple ideas from logic. There is no negative marking, so every question should be answered.
Imperial lists Cambridge, Durham, Imperial, LSE, Oxford, UCL and Warwick as using the TMUA for certain maths, economics and computer science courses. Check each course's requirement.
Test dates for 2027 entry
- โ Window 1: 12-16 October 2026 (booking closed 28 September)
- โ Window 2: 4-8 January 2027; booking opens 26 October 2026 at 15:00 and closes 21 December 2026 at 18:00 UK time
- โ Candidates in China, Hong Kong and Macau sit on specific dates within each window
- โ Oxford and Cambridge applicants must sit in October
- โ You sit the TMUA once per cycle: only your first score counts
Where marks are lost
- โ Treating questions as long A-level problems instead of finding the quickest route
- โ Logic questions on necessary and sufficient conditions, and spotting the flaw in a proof
- โ Arithmetic slips without a calculator
- โ Running out of time on a few hard questions instead of moving on
