How it is assessed
MYP mathematics is assessed against four criteria, each marked out of 8: A knowing and understanding, B investigating patterns, C communicating, and D applying mathematics in real-life contexts. Students take standard or extended mathematics; extended includes additional topics and harder versions of shared ones.
In schools that enter eAssessment, the MYP 5 mathematics on-screen exam lasts two hours and assesses all four criteria.
Where marks are lost
Marked work shows the same patterns year after year:
