How the Upper Level SSAT works
The Upper Level SSAT has two 25-question quantitative sections (30 minutes each), a 40-question reading section (40 minutes), a 60-question verbal section of synonyms and analogies (30 minutes), an unscored writing sample (25 minutes) and an unscored experimental section. Scored sections are reported from 500 to 800, for a total of 1500 to 2400, with percentiles compared with same-grade test takers.
2026-27 Saturday dates include 10 October 2026, 9 January 2027, 30 January 2027 and 13 March 2027, alongside Flex and at-home options.
Where SSAT points are lost
