How the ISEE works
Lower Level is for entry to grades 5-6, Middle Level for 7-8 and Upper Level for 9-12. Each has four scored sections (Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, Reading Comprehension and Mathematics Achievement) and an unscored essay sent to schools. Schools see scaled scores, percentiles and stanines from 1 to 9.
Students can test up to three times in 12 months, once in each season: fall (August-November), winter (December-March) and spring/summer (April-July).
Where ISEE points are lost
Practice tests show the same patterns:
