Eton College admissions: 13+ entry
Eton College is a boys' boarding school near Windsor. Boys join at 13+ (Year 9), and the assessment happens early: registration closes at the end of Year 5 and assessment takes place in Year 6.

Entry points and deadlines
A boy must be registered by 31 August at the end of Year 5, with a non-refundable fee of £480. Registration for 2029 entry closed on 31 August 2026; for 2030 entry it closes on 31 August 2027.
Testing
Stage 1: in October or November of Year 6, boys sit the ISEB Common Pre-Tests (verbal and non-verbal reasoning, English and Maths, about two and a half hours), and their school sends a Head Teacher's report. Results are given in December.
Stage 2: successful candidates have an interview and an online predictive test of academic ability between mid-January and early May of Year 6, with results in March, May or July.
Places are conditional: a boy must pass the King's Scholarship, Common Entrance or Eton Entrance exams in Year 8, and parents pay an acceptance fee by March of Year 7.
