Entry points and deadlines

Two applications are needed: the LRGS application form and your home council's common application form.

Priority goes to boys living within the Administrative City of Lancaster: all who reach the qualifying standard are offered places. Looked-after children have the highest priority.

Day applications for 2027 entry closed on Monday 7 September 2026; boarding applications are still considered.

Testing

Three tests at LRGS: verbal reasoning, maths and English. There is no non-verbal reasoning.

The school recommends GL Assessment's free sample materials and practice papers.
