Sutton Grammar School 11+: SET and Stage 2 admissions
Sutton Grammar School admits boys through a two-stage test: the Sutton Selective Eligibility Test (SET), then a maths and English exam shared with Wilson's and Wallington County Grammar. It has 150 places, many for boys in local postcodes.

Entry points and deadlines
Admission number for 2027: 150, including boys with an EHC plan naming the school.
Order after EHC plans: looked-after children; children of staff (permanent, two years' service); up to 10 Pupil Premium boys in the local postcodes; 75 places for boys in the local postcodes; then all remaining places by score from any postcode.
Local postcodes: SM1 to SM7, KT4, KT17, CR0 4 and CR4. All places are in rank order of the combined SET and Stage 2 scores.
Ties go to the boy living closest to the school's front door in Manor Lane.
Testing
The SET is two multiple-choice papers, English and maths. The English paper (50 minutes) has spelling, two reading texts and a question comparing them. There's no verbal or non-verbal reasoning.
Stage 2: a maths paper and an English paper, shared with Wallington County Grammar and Wilson's.
Marks from both stages are age-adjusted and combined to set the required standard.
