The Latymer School 11+: admissions for 2027 and 2028
The Latymer School in Edmonton is a co-educational grammar school with 192 Year 7 places, open only to children living in its published Inner Area postcodes. For 2028 entry its test moves to a new provider.

Entry points and deadlines
Published Admission Number: 192.
Only children whose main address is in the Inner Area postcodes can be admitted; residence is checked as of 7 January 2027.
Children ranked in the top 700 on maths and verbal reasoning have their English paper marked; the governors then offer places to the top 192 under the oversubscription criteria.
Up to 20 places are for children on Universal Credit or free school meals (threshold: top 900), and up to 20 are music places (threshold: top 700), assessed by audition.
Looked-after and previously looked-after children have the highest priority, with a top-900 threshold and no Inner Area requirement.
Testing
Maths and verbal reasoning: multiple choice set by GL Assessment, 60 minutes (30 minutes each).
English: set by the school, 60 minutes (30 minutes reading an extract and answering questions, 30 minutes creative writing).
From September 2027 (for 2028 entry) the test is provided by Quest Assessments, with maths, English comprehension and English writing sections.

How to prepare
- ✓ Check your postcode against the Inner Area list first: outside it, your child can't be admitted (except looked-after children).
- ✓ For 2028 entry, practise Quest-style maths, comprehension and writing; the open afternoon for Year 5 is on 29 April 2027.
- ✓ Pupil Premium children can get free 11+ familiarisation through the school.
